Martina Marini, MD
My name is Martina, and I am a final-year Neurology Resident at the Policlinico Fondazione Agostino Gemelli, with a focused interest in neuroimmunology, particularly in the pathophysiology and clinical management of myasthenia gravis and autoantibody-mediated neurological diseases.
Motivated by a strong academic interest in this field, I am currently undertaking a six-month research fellowship at the French Reference Center for Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndromes and Autoimmune Encephalitis in Lyon.
Under the supervision of Prof. Honnorat, my research activity is primarily centered on LGI1 autoimmune encephalitis. The main objective of my project is to validate the LOR score in a larger patient cohort and to evaluate its reliability in longitudinally characterizing disease progression, as well as its sensitivity in detecting clinical relapses.
In parallel, I am involved in neuroimaging studies aimed at investigating prognostic markers in autoimmune encephalitis.
This research experience is providing me with the opportunity to further consolidate my clinical and scientific expertise, thereby contributing to my academic and professional development.
I am privileged to collaborate with a leading center of excellence in the field and sincerely appreciate the highly stimulating and collaborative research environment.
