Frank Leypoldt, MD is a clinical neuroimmunologist with board specilization in neurology and laboratory medicine. He is head of the neuroimmunology section at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel (UKSH) and a member of the faculty at the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel. He was trained in Hamburg, Bern, and Toronto and worked as a research fellow in Josep Dalmau’s lab (IDIBAPS, Barcelona).

He is elected head of the German Network for Research on Autoimmune Encephalitis (GENERATE). His main interest is on clinical and antibody characteristics, improvement of testing, genetic predisposition and other trigger factors in autoimmune encephalitis, demyelinating, antibody-mediated syndromes and immune-mediated neuropathies.
